Usage Halo Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 30, 2026

Summary

Usage Halo shows your own AI service usage limits on your iPhone. It is built so that none of your information reaches us: the app has no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What the app stores, and where

  • Sign-in tokens. When you connect Claude or OpenAI, you sign in on that provider's own web page in Safari. GitHub Copilot uses GitHub's device sign-in: the app shows a short code that you type on github.com. Usage Halo never sees your password. The provider returns an access token, which the app keeps in your iPhone's Keychain on this device only. It is not synced or backed up to other devices.
  • Usage readings. Your latest usage percentages and reset times are cached on the device, so the widgets and the Dynamic Island can show them.
  • Account name. For display in Settings, the app keeps the email or username of each connected account on the device.
  • Preferences. Which providers appear on the ring, which window the percentage shows, and similar settings are stored on the device.

What the app sends, and to whom

Each token is sent only to the provider it belongs to, to read your usage: Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT and Codex, and GitHub for Copilot. For GitHub, the app also reads your GitHub username so it can show which account is connected. We never receive your tokens, your usage or any other data.

Access level

The Claude sign-in asks only for read access to your profile and usage; it cannot send messages or use your allowance. The GitHub sign-in asks only for the read:user scope.

Third parties

Usage Halo does not include advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services. The only services it talks to are the providers you choose to connect. Their own privacy policies apply to what they collect when you use their products.

Deleting your data

Settings › Delete all data signs you out of every provider and erases all stored tokens, readings and preferences from the device. If you delete the app instead, any tokens iOS keeps in the Keychain are erased the next time the app is installed and opened. You can also revoke access at any time from your Claude, OpenAI or GitHub account settings.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children

The app is not directed at children.
